The development of digital technology in higher education in recent years has shown rapid growth, particularly in supporting student learning processes and research activities. However, there is still a gap between students' ability to utilize technology and their research competencies, particularly in processing information critically and structured. This study aims to examine the influence of digital literacy and information technology utilization on student research competencies. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method, where data were obtained through questionnaires from 100 student respondents and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that digital literacy and information technology utilization simultaneously had a positive and significant influence on student research competencies, contributing 62%. Individually, digital literacy had a stronger influence than information technology utilization. This finding indicates that digital literacy plays a role not only as a technical skill but also as a cognitive foundation in supporting the research process, while information technology functions as a supporting tool in accessing and processing information. In conclusion, both variables play an important role in improving student research competencies, although there are still other factors that have not been analyzed in this study. Future research is recommended to add variables such as learning motivation and academic environment to obtain more comprehensive results.
