Abstract

We are currently witnessing a fundamental shift in the global business landscape, where an organization's success is no longer measured solely by its physical assets, but rather by its agility in undertaking digital transformation. Amidst this shift, the emergence of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has triggered a drastic paradigm shift in the way information systems are designed and utilized. This technology no longer operates merely as a predictive engine tied to historical data patterns, but has become a driving force for innovation, capable of automating creative tasks while providing policymakers with far sharper and more accurate decision-making analysis. This research is a systematic effort to examine GenAI's immense potential in accelerating digital transformation, while also mapping the complex obstacles often overlooked during the implementation phase. Utilizing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology, this research synthesizes findings from the latest scientific literature to provide a comprehensive and balanced picture. We explore how the integration of this generative technology can boost operational efficiency and create unprecedented levels of service personalization. However, behind this optimism, this study reveals that GenAI adoption brings multidimensional challenges that demand organizational preparedness at various levels. Our findings indicate that the success of this technology is highly dependent on the availability of a robust technological infrastructure foundation, clean data as the primary fuel of the system, and the digital literacy readiness of the workforce to collaborate with artificial intelligence. Furthermore, this research highlights that the technical dimension alone is not enough; issues regarding the vulnerabilities of cybersecurity architectures that must continue to evolve, the need for a transparent regulatory framework, and the ethical responsibility to maintain algorithmic fairness are absolute prerequisites that cannot be compromised. In conclusion, we emphasize that the sustainable integration of GenAI requires an integrated strategic approach. Companies must be able to balance technical ambition, proactive cyber risk mitigation, adherence to ethical norms and human competency development, so that the resulting added value truly has a positive and long-term impact on the organization in the future.
