Abstract

This internship project was carried out at SMKS Al-Mujtama' Pamekasan with the aim of designing and developing a Business Intelligence (BI) system that functions to analyze academic data and support strategies for accepting new students. This system is designed to process and display academic data in the form of interactive visualizations, so that the school can make data-driven decisions (Data-Driven Decision Making - DDDM) more effectively. This research uses the CDIO (Conceive–Design–Implement–Operate) framework with a quantitative descriptive approach, focusing on the processing of numerical data such as student academic grades, prospective students' regional origins, and parental backgrounds. Data was collected through observation and documentation of the school's academic database, then analyzed using a BI-based before-and-after analysis approach. The final result of this activity is a web-based Business Intelligence dashboard that can display academic information in real-time, including student performance graphs, maps of applicant distribution, and analysis of parental characteristics. The implementation of this BI system has proven to make a positive contribution to the school in strategic decision-making, especially in promotional activities and the selection of new students.
