Performance Analysis of Wireless Distribution Network (WDN) in a Dense User Environment Using the QoS Method

Abstract

Wireless Distribution Network (WDN) is a wireless network solution used to expand network coverage without the need for cable infrastructure. However, the implementation of WDN in dense user environments has the potential to reduce network service quality due to increased traffic load and limited network capacity. This study aims to analyze the performance of Wireless Distribution Network (WDN) in a dense user environment using the Quality of Service (QoS) method. The study was conducted using a quantitative method through direct measurement of network performance during peak hours. The QoS parameters analyzed include throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss. Data collection was carried out using network monitoring software to record traffic activity in real time. The results showed that WDN performance was quite good under low to moderate traffic conditions, but declined in high-density user environments, as indicated by decreased throughput and increased delay, jitter, and packet loss. Nevertheless, Wireless Distribution Network is still feasible as a wireless network solution with the implementation of proper network management and optimization. This research is expected to serve as an evaluation tool and reference in the development of more reliable and sustainable wireless networks.
